Chain:
He wore a new gold chain around his neck
It was the sign that ended all respect
On the links a wedding ring hung in shame
She went back to her father’s name
With full disregard for her vows
Now he is the victim of her scows
The ring rest just above his heart and chest
Now a symbol, “dead love without a quest”.
“I’m not the man you think I am.”
“You’re not the man you think you are.”
“It was your father who abandoned you.”
This undecided love made her reject
And blind to any mutual respect
Now her revenge is on him, “It’s true”
And all these years she felt this hurt
And now his love she must pervert
Refusing to face what is the fact
This is a drama just putting on an act
And the children feel the pain
Not knowing who’s to blame.
She stopped loving her heart grew cold
She put all her love and his on hold
Said, “I needed my space.”
She didn’t know how to face
Her Identity had faded
Now she needed time to heal
“She feels she was betrayed.”
Now she’s off to find something real.
Someone else to fill the void
So In order to avoid
Still wearing the same shroud
While living in the same cloud.
