I've got the Blue Colar Blues:

The alarm goes off at four both my feet are on the floor
By four fifteen I’m out the door driving down the I-5 corridor
I’m in my car but I can’t get far wish I was drinking at the bar
90 minutes later, on the job I can hear my head throb
Punched my time card and I’m in the yard
Pick up my rivet gun ready to hit a homerun
I’ve got the blue, blue collar worker blues

At 3:30 I’m headed home talking to my wife on the phone
Nothing but a stream of cars ahead
I’m tired but I got to make that bread
By the time I get home it will be time for bed
Maybe a beer maybe some small talk
But I won’t take the dog for a walk
I’ve got the blue, blue collar worker blues.

The Union makes me pay my dues
And the Governor keeps taxing my booze
Everything gets so expensive
And people are so sensitive
About what is Politically correct
While blue collar workers get no respect
There’s an increase in white-collar crime
No wonder why I can’t save a dime.

I got the blue, blue collar worker blues causes
“I didn’t s go to college”
I got the blue, blue collar worker blues causes
“I refuse to acknowledge”
I got the blue, blue collar worker blues causes
“I barely pay my mortgage”
I got the blue collar worker blues
“It’s like I am living in a cage.
